Special Parish Meeting (April 6, 2008)
At
the special parish meeting held between this Sunday's services, the
parish elected The Rev. Matthew Cadwell as our next Rector. Thank
you to all those involved in the search process, our local
parishioners and Diocesan support staff, for bringing us such a stellar
candidate and preparing the way for our next season of ministry in
Wakefield!
Warrant Posted (March 2008)
A
special parish meeting of Emmanuel Episcopal Church for the purpose of
election of a new Rector will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2008 between
the 8:00am and 10:00am services.
Parish no longer Receiving Names (November 2007)
We
have received communications from a number of candidates, and the
process continues. We appreciate the interest of those who have
responded to this opening, and we look forward to the upcoming dialogue
as the process of discernment continues for both priests and the parish.
Parish Receiving Names (August 2007)
After
working these past months on the self-study, parish profile and
submission of the CDO, Emmanuel is now receiving names of clergy
interested in leading the parish in the coming years. The synopsis is hosted by the Diocese, and you may also read the full parish profile. Resumes and inquiries can be emailed to: Search.emmanuel@yahoo.com (process closed 11/2006).
Mission Statement Workshop (December 2006)
The Rev. Cynthia
Hubbard of the diocesan Office of Congregational Development and
Deployment visited December 10th to share from the pulpit then lead us
through a post-service workshop to prepare our Mission Statement:
Emmanuel is an inviting community of all ages joyfully involved in
worship and mission. Our church is a family where we nurture each
other and play together. Inspired by our children’s vitality and our elders’
wisdom, we are a church that never stops thinking and learning. |
Parish Forum
and Roundtable Discussion (October 2006)
The Search
Committee and Vestry coordinated a parish forum on October
15th, addressing the process so far and bringing to the fore logistical
and financial concerns as it relates to the search. This
forum was followed by informal roundtable discussions on the 29th.
