Music Lessons
When Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, each Saturday our church is filled with music as students from across the community gather for lessons with Dr. Caroline Lieber, founder of Wakefield Music. Dr. Lieber offers violin and viola lessons to children and adults age 5 and above. Pedagogical elements of teachers such as Shinichi Suzuki, Paul Rolland, Carl Orff, and Zoltan Kodaly are incorporated into the teaching of all students ensuring that they have fulfilling and enjoyable experiences making music. Fundamentals such as rhythm, note reading, theory, and awareness are incorporated into learning the instrument from the very first lesson.

Prior to founding Wakefield Music in 2003, Dr. Lieber previously taught string instruments privately and in community music schools in North Carolina, Connecticut, and the Boston Area. She was the founding head teacher of the Greater Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra's Intensive Community Program, focusing on high quality string training for minority youth in the greater Boston area. Dr. Lieber is concertmaster of the Reading Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly with Quartet For-Te. Dr. Lieber received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in violin performance from Boston University in May of 2003. Other degrees include a Masters of Music from Yale University School of Music and a Bachelors of Music from North Carolina School of the Arts. She resides in Wakefield with her loving family. When not performing, teaching, and mothering, she enjoys cooking, reading, and camping.
